LAS VEGAS - Dec 4, 2023 - Riot Games, developer, publisher, and esports tournament organizer, announced today that the winner of the largest global LAN event for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) will be awarded the Tactician’s Belt. On December 8-10, 512 international competitors will face-off at the TFT Vegas Open at the MGM Grand for a total prize pool of $300,000 USD with the winner getting $100,000.
“In my almost 10 years at Riot, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with creative teams and partners to make a variety of trophies for our esports events at all competition levels including professional, collegiate, and global. I’ve always been passionate about finding unique and creative ways to celebrate the mastery and achievements of champions. The Tactician’s Belt transforms a traditional championship belt with bright and colorful accolades that honor the feat of our new champion mixed with eclectic lore from our game,” said Michael Sherman, Global Head of TFT Esports. “With most esports events, teams will receive trophy replicas later. However, one player will walk away with the original as there will only ever be one recipient of the TFT Vegas Open Tactician's Belt.”
The Tactician’s Belt is the first of its kind and crash-landed on Earth from The Convergence, the realm where TFT gameplay takes place. The championship belt features three distinct emblems including:
Pengu, the beloved mascot of the game, dressed in his Vegas best
DJ Sona, a character from the Remix Rumble set (the latest game update) that will be played during the competition

The TFT Vegas Open will feature Remix Rumble, one of the most ambitious and anticipated game updates to date. Since the tournament takes place at the start of the set’s launch, this event will emphasize players’ ability to adapt quickly to the new content and define the meta instead of focusing solely on players' mastery of the set.
As competitive TFT continues to evolve, the global LAN event in Las Vegas represents the next step in Riot’s commitment to TFT esports. This tournament aims to be an unforgettable experience for both players and fans alike.
