REMOTE BROADCAST CENTER,
POWERED BY AWS

As part of our ongoing investment to re-invent the watch experience for fans of our esports, Riot has partnered with AWS in building out a revolutionary circuit of remote broadcast centers (RBCs).

Originally launched under the codename “Project Stryker,” the Remote Broadcast Center, Powered by AWS represents Riot’s innovative approach to creating a centralized global broadcast model through strategically placed RBCs around the world. Three years in the making, these RBCs work to provide increased capacity for Riot’s esports content and events while also lowering operational costs, and ensuring top-tier quality and consistency across all of our esports productions.

Each RBC is located eight hours apart to create a “follow-the-sun” broadcast model to support live esports productions 24/7/365. During a live esports event, a small contributor kit onsite sends live feeds back to the RBC through Riot’s internet backbone where they are checked in the Technical Operations Center (TOC) before being routed to control rooms for unique show productions across different languages.
