Project Stryker

Project Stryker is Riot Games’ innovative approach to creating a centralized global broadcast model through strategically placed Remote Broadcast Centers (RBCs) around the world. Three years in the making, these RBCs work to provide increased capacity for Riot’s esports content and events while also lowering operational costs, and ensuring top-tier quality and consistency across all of our esports productions.

Project Stryker ultimately will be anchored by three Remote Broadcast Centers (RBCs) strategically located eight hours apart to create a “follow-the-sun” broadcast model to support live esports productions 24/7/365. During a live esports event, a small contributor kit onsite sends live feeds back to the RBC through Riot’s internet backbone where they are checked in the Technical Operations Center (TOC) before being routed to control rooms at Stryker for unique show productions across different languages. Currently, European-based RBC located in Dublin, Ireland is now fully operational, with development underway for Project Stryker’s second RBC in the Greater Seattle area with a targeted completion date of early 2023. Additional details on the third and final Project Stryker RBC, slated for development in the APAC region, will be released at a later date.
