About Mastercard and LoL Esports
Mastercard, a payments and tech company, is a current partner with LoL Esports regional leagues in North America (LCS), Europe (LEC), and Brazil (CBLoL). The company also currently sponsors FlyQuest in the LCS and G2 in the LEC.
LoL Esports is a premier global sport built around Riot Games’ legacy title. “League of Legends” has attracted the attention of millions of fans around the world since 2011. More than 800 players on 100+ professional League of Legends esports teams compete across a dozen leagues globally. Within each regional league, teams compete against one another over the course of two seasonal splits in hopes of earning regional titles and championship points. Placements in these seasonal splits grant top-performing teams invitations to international tournaments: the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.
