Mastercard Signs Multi-Year Global Partnership Extension

with Riot Games for League of Legends

Mastercard and Riot Games are extending their collaborative partnership and commitment to enhance the esports experience for all fans, pro players, and teams, bringing them closer to their passions as esports and gaming continue to scale. As the official global financial services partner for League of Legends (LoL) Esports, Mastercard will continue to grow the groundbreaking relationship it forged with Riot beginning in 2018 when the company became the first global partner for the sport. 

Specific details around the new partnership include: 

  • Mastercard will continue to be an official sponsor for League of Legends Esports Global Tournaments – World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, All-Star event, including Opening Ceremony 

  • New Priceless Experiences for fans at global events, including the Priceless Table at Worlds 2022 event hosted Oct. 12 at the Midnight Theatre in New York City 

  • Mastercard Card on File promotions and Co-Branded Card products offered at banks around the world

  • Co-Branded League of Legends Esports x Mastercard merchandise 

  • Mastercard Branded segments, In-game promotions and Logo placements 

To celebrate the two companies’ partnership extension, Mastercard and Riot Games hosted a special VIP experience called Priceless Table at Worlds Oct. 12 in New York CIty, the host city for the League of Legends World Championship Group Stage matches. The event, which blended gaming excellence with culinary mastery by bringing together the biggest names in esports and some of the most popular chefs in New York City, took place at the new Midnight Theatre and included exciting cooking demonstrations and competitions, an in-person look at the new Worlds Championship trophy created by Tiffany & Co., and a host of delicious LoL Esports themed drinks and dishes.
